GoPro and GoPro Digital Lab.
This year, Katie Bruce was our official "GoPro Girl," she operated from our GoPro Digital lab, located between our music program and the Canteen. After instruction, the Digi Lab was opened till 10PM. Campers can check out GoPros to use throughout the day and then check back in. With Katie's assistance, campers put together edits and went home with a DVD of all of their filming, edits, pictures, etc to show off to their parents, family, and another that would watch.

Katie also attended each demo; the Sunday afternoon Enterprise or Crater demo, the Monday night Hangar demo, and the Tuesday night gymnastics demo. She set up GoPros around each of the events for different angles and talked to the camper about setting them up.
Digital Lab director Katie Bruce said about the program, "Campers of every age and from every sport visit the GoPro Digital Lab - it's one of the best places to be at camp! Everyone, from visiting pros to mini-campers, can drop by in the afternoon, get a one-on-one tutorial on using a GoPro, (which has 4 operations for shooting photos and videos, as well as a 170 degree fisheye lens), then decide about what kind of project they want to make. Campers often make group edits, or decide to work as a team to get the funniest clips and sickest tricks on film from their week at camp! Campers can either take their raw footage home or kick in in the DigiLab just a little bit longer and put an edit together, complete with music, animated titles and slow motion, to take home! No worries if it is your first time editing, I, the GoPro Girl at Woodward West, Katie Bruce, can take you from start to finish by helping you learn the simple in's and out's of iMovie in one afternoon and evening of free riding time. You can attach a GoPro to your bike, your board, your helmet, your body, a tree hanging over the dirt jumps, in the pool, to the rock wall, to Arts and Crafts, to the Music Room, to the Bowling Alley - anyplace but the cabins is a go! Some campers get so excited to ride that they don't realize the lab is in the Canteen until Thursday or Friday, so after you sign up for a week at camp and arrive, stop by the GoPro Digital Lab and make the edit you've been dreaming about all year!"
The GoPros were present at most events and in the hands of aspiring campers who wanted to brag to their friends about the edit they filmed.
We also sold GoPro cameras in the Camp Store all summer.
