Gym stays busy in the off-season

The last few weekends after summer camp have been busy for the gym and cheer program at Woodward West. We hosted 3 large groups each weekend; Pacific Coast Magic, the Elite Benefit Training Camp, and Region 1 Boys Select Team.

IMG_4371Pacific Coast Magic, an all-star cheer-leading program who has gyms in 4 locations; Murrieta, Laguna Hills, Corona and Walnut, held their 3rd annual team train-away bringing over 250 athletes and a handful of staff throughout the weekend. They spent time in the gym, working on stunts, tumbling, and jumps and also in the Hangar to learn choreography.

Look for a video coming out soon of their weekend! PCM also made time for theme days, 80s dance parties, and some relaxation by pool!

Thank you to all the coaches, parents, and athletes for making it another great weekend. PCM4LIFE!

Elite Training Camp was a 4-day event over Labor Day weekend that played host to over 300 athletes specializing in girls and boys artistic gymnastics and T&T (trampoline and tumbling) athletes.

The weekend was organized by Karl Zein and went extremely smooth. The athletes enjoyed bowling, bonfire, foam-tag competition, and time by the pool. It's exciting to see this group get larger and larger each year!

Good luck this season to all the athletes!

teamphotoRegion 1 Boys Select Team planned their annual training camp at Woodward West once again. It's amazing to see the high level skills and natural talent from these athletes. The athletes spend most of their time in the gym with their coaches and clinicians but get 1 night off to spend some time in the Canteen or by the bonfire making s'mores and hot dogs with the camp champerones.

It is always a successful event. Big thanks to Debbie and Roger Baldwin for organizing the training camp and best of luck to all the athletes this upcoming season!
